Q. What does staying fit mean to you?

A. Staying fit to me means living a healthy happy life. From being active on a daily basis as well as eating healthy that fits your body type and style.

Q. How do you enjoy staying fit?

A. I enjoy Playing all types of sports for my physical activity. Golfing on the weekends in the summer and playing softball twice a week. I also enjoy going 5km runs in the morning during the summer. I find that when I wake up and go for a run right away It helps me clear my head and plan my day out. I’m also a big fan of swimming in the lake, sea, or ocean. Come winter time I play indoor flag football once a week as well tennis with a few friends. I also enjoy going snowboarding in the mountains out west. Keeping active and playing sports is my happy place. It allows me to stay fit and get a workout in but also activates the competitor inside me.

Q. Aside from physical activity are there other ways you enjoy staying fit?

A. Meal prepping would be one way I try to stay fit. I can’t lie sometimes it very good and other times not as much. There’s room for growth in that area for me. Also setting goals for the week and trying to obtain them are other ways I try to stay fit. Outline goals and sticking to them is a big thing for me.

Q. Does food play a role in how you stay fit?

A. Again the food prepping I could do better in but I also make sure I eat well during the week. I enjoy a cheat day on Sundays for football or up at the cottage during the summer with the bbq going. That being said I love all types of food so I continue to eat in moderations so I’m not filling myself. That has been one of my goals I try to stick with.

Q. What is one of your favourite motivational quotes?

A. My motivational quote would be “don’t give up, don’t ever give up” Jimmy Valvano.
