Q. What does staying fit mean to you?

A. Staying fit to me means making time for myself. I have two little girls that look up to me and I need to make sure I am taking care of myself first to be a good role model for them. 

Q. How do you enjoy staying fit?

A. Taking time for self-care for me means working out with @alyssacullenfitandwell twice a week, daily walks, and setting aside time to prep healthy snacks and meals.   

Q. Aside from physical activity are there other ways you enjoy staying fit?

A. My days consist of running around after my 3-year-old daughter while juggling a newborn. Meal prep is key during the day when both are content or asleep. I like to make quick, easy, and nutritious snacks for on the go that I can easily grab from the fridge and don’t take a lot of prep work to make. 

Q. Does food play a role in how you stay fit?

A.  Every day is go go go! And with a child who is constantly snacking, eating is a huge part of our day. My go-to snack to get me through the day are energy balls. There are so many variations out there! I like to mix it up with whatever I have on hand in my pantry. Some of my favourites are shredded coconut, chia seeds, hemp hearts, flaxseed, cranberries, and semi-sweet chocolate chips!  

Q. What is one piece of guidance to someone still navigating and understanding their unique way of staying fit?

A. To me, staying fit doesn’t mean doing a workout class every day or running a mile. It’s a bigger picture than that. It means taking time to care for yourself, to relax, to enjoy the little things. For me staying fit is being in a comfortable place physically and a positive place emotionally so that I can be the best ME!
